Who Needs a CIDB Green Card?

All workers directly involved in construction activities in Malaysia must have a valid CIDB Green Card, including:

New CIDB Green Card Registration Process

The new CIDB Green Card registration process involves several important steps to ensure worker qualification and safety at construction sites.

1. Basic Eligibility

Local Workers

  • • Malaysian citizen
  • • Age 18-60 years
  • • Physically fit
  • • No serious criminal record
  • • Pass SICW course (mandatory)

Foreign Workers

  • • Valid work permit
  • • Age 18-55 years
  • • FOMEMA health certificate
  • • Valid passport
  • • Pass SICW course (mandatory)

2. Required Documents

For Local Workers:

  • Copy of IC (front and back)
  • Birth certificate (if required)
  • Passport-sized photos (2 pieces) - white background
  • Valid SICW certificate
  • Highest education certificate
  • Employer confirmation letter (if any)

For Foreign Workers:

  • Copy of passport (all used pages)
  • Valid work permit/visa
  • FOMEMA health certificate
  • Passport-sized photos (2 pieces) - white background
  • Valid SICW certificate
  • Support letter from employer
  • Insurance coverage (if any)

3. Worker Categories & Skills

CIDB categorizes workers according to skills and experience:

Skill Categories:

  • Category 1: General workers without specific skills
  • Category 2: Semi-skilled workers (6 months - 2 years experience)
  • Category 3: Skilled workers (2-5 years experience)
  • Category 4: Highly skilled workers (5+ years experience)
